Selection and Production

OPAL ZI Ltd. started a collaboration with the Genetics institute in 1999 and in a result of our successful cooperation three Bulgarian hybrid varies were created until 2004- tomato Opal BG F1, tomato Naslada F1 and tomato Elena Prima F1. These varieties combine very good qualities- high productivity, resistance to diseases, endurance to high temperatures and perfect taste qualities. After 2005 our company continued in creating new Bulgarian varieties on its own. In 2010 we introduced 4 new Bulgarian varieties- tomato Pink Ideal, pepper Hisarska Kapia, pepper Plovdivska kapia and pepper Sladka shipka. As the interest of the traditional Bulgarian varieties of vegetables was growing, OPAL ZI made a selection of 2 new varities, which were presented to the market in 2016- tomato Harmonia and tomato Rozova konserva- Pinky fen /pink and canned type/. The last varieties that were introduced to marker in 2020 are: melon Diamant Lux F1- which is a very early variety with perfect taste qualities and tomato Damsko sartse- high-yield pink variety with excellent taste qualities.
